What: A hub of ideas, support, and mentorship
For whom: Those who want to do more with their lives
Why: Because life should be about more than watching Netflix and paying a mortgage
Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve wanted to do “more” with my life. I didn’t always know what that meant, but it was a feeling that would never let go of me. Even in the moments when I tried to be a normal 20-something going out for brunch and drinks on the weekends, there was a gnawing feeling in the back of my mind: “This isn’t really all there is…is it?”
It’s funny how adulthood can take you so far from who you were always meant to be. When I was a kid, I embraced this desire to do more. I loved that I viewed the world differently and I couldn’t wait to get out there and do something about it. But as I grew older, I grew scared. I was afraid of not being able to pay off my student loans, of not saving enough for retirement, of never getting paid to do the work I loved, of becoming a heaping waste of potential. And the more fearful I became, the more I drifted from who I really was.
Luckily, if we’re paying attention, who we are will always come back to us. Usually it’s in an annoying voice asking when are we finally going to do something with our lives, but nonetheless it’s there. If you feel like you’ve drifted from who you were meant to be, this is the place for you. If you’ve had one too many birthdays in which you asked yourself, “What am I really doing with my life,” then this is the place for you. If you know exactly what you want and do it every day, but would like to have a community and resources to support you, this is the place for you. If you strive, above all, to live a life of meaning and purpose, then this is the place for you.
You don’t have to be an artist. You don’t have to be an entrepreneur. You simply have to want to do whatever it is you do well, with love, and with an understanding that your actions affect those around you. And if you haven’t yet figured how to combine your skills with the change you want to see, then I can help. Either way, Off The Rails is here to support you as you swim upstream through a life of purpose.
This is Off the Rails, a place for people who march to the beat of possibility.
